The head office and head school for adult learners are in Lidk\u00f6ping.<\/p>\n<p>The five municipalities cooperate regarding adult education in order to offer a vast choice of courses and programs. The aim is to inspire people to study as adults, regardless of motives. Be it to get qualified for a new occupation, increased competence within the current occupation or for pure pleasure, Campus V\u00e4stra Skaraborg has programs and courses for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Campus V\u00e4stra Skaraborg organization consists of different branches:<\/p>\n<p>1) \u00a0Municipal Adult Education which is divided into:<\/p>\n<p>-Swedish tuition for immigrants with about 400 learners<\/p>\n<p>-Basic courses at compulsory school level with about 50 learners<\/p>\n<p>-Courses at upper secondary school level with about 650 learners (mostly learners who want to prepare for university)<\/p>\n<p>-Courses for adult learners with learning disabilities with about 55 learners<\/p>\n<p>2) Study Support Centre for university distance learning. The students attend courses at colleges and universities across Sweden and follow lectures via video conferencing equipment or as streaming video. A total of about 600 students study through our study support centre.<\/p>\n<p>3) Municipal centre for study\/career counselling and validation, which is attached to the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the kinds of education mentioned, Campus V\u00e4stra Skaraborg offers higher vocational education (a customized training program in close cooperation with worklife) (e.g. as an accountant, in sustainable tourism and marketing, electricity designer etc.), vocational adult education and apprenticeship (combination of theory on an upper secondary level and practice), health and social care programmes, one-day and several-day courses that give people more competence in a particular subject matter and open lectures for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Campus V\u00e4stra Skaraborg\u2019s mission is to give everyone a second chance at education \u2013 at all levels. The aim is to increase the level of competence in the region, promoting industry and trade in order to be more competitive. There is a close cooperation with different organizations, common people and businesses to investigate and embrace the need of education. Many of the courses at Campus V\u00e4stra Skaraborg are developed together with business life.<\/p>\n<p>Campus V\u00e4stra Skaraborg maintains international contacts through cooperation in different projects, both within and outside of the EU. Students and staff can participate in project work, exchanges, practice placement or job shadowing, make study visits or study abroad in many countries.<\/p>\n<p>The town council provides most of the finances, with an addition of state funds for certain kinds of education. In total there are slightly more than 80 members of staff in the school building that once was built to accommodate a mechanical industry.
